30 Year Anniversary of A Heartbreaking Loss
Been 30 years since the deaths of Eazy E and Selena one being murdered one passing from AIDS.
When I was 11 years old, was when I learned about multiple artists from Eazy E to Selena, as I saw Eazy E on the BET top 25 listening to one of their songs. Regarding Selena My brother saw the movie and I learned about her tragedy and how it happened. It took me until high school to fully watch the Selena movie and learning about the result thanks to my brother and thanks to my High School.
Learning about Selena at school and seeing her childhood when she got into music because of her dad as her dad did music himself. At first performing blues that did not attract the right audience and then eventually performing Spanish dance music and just seeing how the audience becomes attracted to their music and even landing a record deal has been phenomenal. Famous songs like “Bi Di Bi Di Bom Bom” and “I could fall in love” have been unforgettable hits and really blows my mind. Watching her movie in High School and then watching the series on Netflix over a decade later with different sequence on the real events have been intriguing. I will say this how she died and the events leading up to it have been emotional and seeing the climax leading up to it especially where the series had some unusual events especially with the fact that the checks and the records being embezzled was what led the passing being very uneasy. The fact that she was gone at the prime of her career and even before 30 and even being gone 3 weeks before her birthday. Seeing how she evolved going through school and then doing her music professionally and was still able to become a High School Graduate. Seeing and learning all these things and even being in a controversial relationship that eventually led to her spouse eventually being accepted by her family and seeing that in both the movies and the TV Series was very entertainment captivating.
Selena Was an awesome artist even her music wasn’t my exact forte. But it was incredible listening to it whenever I watched the movie or series version, the challenges of what she went through and her father too, shows we can evolve from our problems and our struggles and make a change and see success when change happens and we work hard through our battles. Oh I can’t forget her family and incredible band.
